Hi, and welcome to my first ever blog. As the title says, this certainly is an exciting new adventure, for me, at a very trying time for so many of us.
I doubt any of the teachers at Fairlop Secondary Boys School in Barkingside, Essex, back in 1962, would have thought that the tall skinny mischief making boy, leaving with not a single qualification, would be publishing his first novel at the age of 73, and to be honest, at the time I would have agreed with them. But life can bring many changes and if you get a chance to read my bio page, you will see it has brought many changes for me.
It has been a such an awful year for so many, and my heart goes out to everyone who has lost a loved one to this catastrophic plague, while sending heartfelt thanks to the heroes of the NHS, and front line workers.
Like so many of us I had always wanted to write a book and have never been short of ideas for plots and story lines, but had it not been for the lockdown, I doubt it would have happened. Where I should have been touring with my theatre shows, which of course hasn’t happened, and in fact it’s looking like the entire year will be wiped out, writing has given me a purpose, a way to use whatever little bit of creative talent I may have, a reason to go into my office every day, and set about not only ticking something off of my bucket list, but who knows possibly even starting another career. While I wait for the release date of Time For Justice, I am two thirds of the way through the second in the series, and also doing all I can to build the social media profile for the release. One thing is for certain, it’s all extremely exciting. I intend to do regular blogs so hope you will check back to see what I’ve been up to. Take care and stay safe. Neil
